Are tomatoes good for arthritis?

My doctor told me to include more anti-inflammatory foods in my diet to help with my mild arthritis. I've read conflicting information about tomatoes. Some say they're good, others say bad. So, are tomatoes actually good for arthritis?

Unless you are allergic to red veggies, tomatoes are actually loaded with good stuff! If they were causing arthritis, the whole of India would be struggling to walk given how much tomato-onion masala we consume daily, haha!

Yes, they are actually good because of all the antioxidants. My dad has joint issues and he eats them daily in his salads with absolutely no problems. Don't worry about the internet rumors, they are perfectly fine to eat.

Tomatoes are a wonderful part of a balanced vegetarian diet, rich in vitamin C which supports cartilage health. However, because body chemistry varies, some people with arthritis do report sensitivity. Try keeping a food diary to see how they affect your joints personally.

I spent months feeling so stressed and guilty every time I ate a tomato, thinking I was making my joint pain worse because of some online articles. It was so exhausting. Please don't restrict your food in fear; for most people, tomatoes actually help reduce inflammation.

They actually contain lycopene, which is a powerful antioxidant known to fight inflammation. I track my nutrition and steps daily, and adding tomatoes to my meals is great for overall recovery. Unless you have a specific nightshade sensitivity, they are highly beneficial.
