Are there different types of asthma?

I was recently diagnosed with asthma, and I'm trying to learn as much as possible about it. During my consultation, the doctor mentioned different approaches depending on the 'type' of asthma. So, are there distinct types of asthma or is it just one condition with varying symptoms?

Yes, there are different types like allergic, non-allergic, and occupational asthma. Instead of searching online and wasting hours, just book an appointment with a pulmonologist. They can do a quick spirometry test to give you a clear answer.

Please get this checked properly. I ignored my persistent wheezing for a year thinking it was just a normal pollution cough, and it turned out to be severe cough-variant asthma. Different types exist, and ignoring them can lead to dangerous attacks.

Haan bhai, dama ke bhi alag alag kism hote hain. Kisi ko dhool-mittee se hota hai toh kisi ko thand lagne se. Aap kisi badhiya doctor ke paas jaakar chest ka jaanch karwa lijiye, dawayi se bilkul aaram mil jata hai.

Yes, from what I know, there are various types like cough-variant and exercise-induced asthma. Since health conditions are so unique to everyone, I'd suggest seeing a lung specialist to understand your specific symptoms safely.

Yes, there are several types, including allergic and adult-onset asthma. I go to a reputed hospital in Delhi, and the specialists there always emphasize that diagnosing the exact type is crucial for the right inhaler plan. Ask your doctor clearly about it.
