Are there different kinds of kidney stones?

My brother just passed a kidney stone, and it was a very painful experience for him. He was told by the doctor that depending on the type, the diet changes. I was wondering if there are different types of kidney stones that can form in the body.

Honestly, I haven't slept properly in days because of my back aching, but yes, there are different types. My doctor told me some are from calcium and others from uric acid. Whatever it is, I just want them out so I can sleep!

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Yes, there are different types like calcium, uric acid, and struvite stones. Just drink lots of water for now and let the doc figure out the exact type after a quick test.

Actually, yes yaar. There are different types like calcium and uric acid stones. My dad had them last year and the doctor made him change his entire diet depending on the stone type. Water intake is the most important thing, seriously.

Yes, there are four main types of kidney stones: calcium oxalate (the most common), uric acid, struvite (often from infections), and cystine. My doctor explained that analyzing the stone type is crucial because the diet plan to prevent them is completely different for each.
