Are sumo oranges good for diabetics?

I saw these big, bumpy 'Sumo oranges' at the fruit stall, and they looked very appealing. My doctor advised me to watch my sugar intake, especially with fruits. Can a diabetic person safely eat these, or are they too sweet?

Look, they are oranges at the end of the day, so they have natural sugars. They are fine to eat because of the fiber, but don't go eating three or four at once. Keep it to half or one small portion a day and you will be fine.

Sumo oranges are so juicy and delicious! Since they are high in fiber and Vitamin C, they are great for health, but yes, they do have natural fruit sugar. Just enjoy them in moderation and you are good to go.

I got so worried when my dad wanted to try them because they taste quite sweet. But I read that the fiber in whole fruits helps slow down sugar absorption. Still, to be safe, maybe monitor his sugar levels after he eats one just to be absolutely sure.

Whenever I am doubtful about any exotic fruit, I directly ask my doctor at Kokilaben hospital. He told me that while whole fruits are good, the portion size is what matters for diabetics. Please consult your physician to know how much you can safely consume.

In my years of managing diabetes, I have learned that eating whole fruit in moderation is always better than drinking juice. Sumo oranges are packed with fiber, so having a few slices after a meal is perfectly fine. Just don't overindulge.
