Are some people more susceptible to cavities?

My 8-year-old daughter gets cavities very often, even though we make sure she brushes twice daily and limits sweets. My mother-in-law says some kids just have weaker teeth. Is it true that some people are just naturally more prone to cavities, ya kuch aur baat hai?

Don't stress too much about it, it is actually very common. Some people are genetically predisposed to thinner enamel, or they might have naturally dry mouths. Just stay consistent with your brushing and flossing, and you'll be fine.

Yes they are, and please don't ignore mild tooth sensitivity like I did. I thought it was normal and delayed going to the dentist, which ended up costing me a painful root canal. Get a professional cleanup and checkup done immediately.

Ghar pe simple habit dalo, stop using highly sweet toothpastes and make sure to rinse your mouth with plain water after every meal. It costs nothing but saves you from expensive dental bills later on.

Some people do have weaker teeth naturally. Doing oil pulling with warm coconut oil in the morning can help reduce mouth bacteria, but if you have a deep black spot or constant toothache, please see a proper dentist instead of home remedies.

Honestly, I am so tired that I sometimes fall asleep without brushing and wake up feeling guilty. My brother brushes once a day and has zero cavities, while I do it twice and still get them. Life is just unfair that way!

Actually, yes! Studies show saliva pH and mouth microbiome genetics differ for everyone. I use an app to track my hydration because a dry mouth breeds cavity-causing bacteria. Keeping hydrated is a game changer.

Diet plays a huge role in this. If your diet is low in calcium and vitamin D, your teeth will naturally be more prone to decay. Try adding more dairy, ragi, and sesame seeds to your diet to strengthen your teeth from inside.
