Are skin tags a sign of diabetes?

Recently, I've started noticing a few small skin tags forming, especially around my neck. My aunt has diabetes and also has many skin tags. Is it possible that skin tags are a sign of diabetes?

Hey, don't stress too much! Skin tags are super common and can happen just due to skin friction or genetics. But yes, sometimes they can be linked to insulin resistance, so maybe just get a simple fasting sugar test done to be totally safe.

While skin tags don't automatically mean you have diabetes, they are clinically associated with insulin resistance and obesity. Stop guessing on the internet. Go to a lab, get your HbA1c checked, and consult a general physician to get a clear answer.

Man, my newborn kept me up all night and now I'm reading about skin tags. Honestly, half the population has them and most of us are just overweight or friction-prone, not necessarily diabetic. But if you are worried, get a blood test done so you can sleep better than I do!

Actually, my dad got a lot of skin tags suddenly, and when we checked, his sugar was indeed high, yaar. But then my mom also has them and her reports are completely normal. It is better to just do a quick lab test instead of overthinking it.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to notice something on your body and immediately fear the worst. I went down this Google rabbit hole last year and was convinced I had severe diabetes. My doctor ordered an HbA1c test which came back totally normal, so please get tested to ease your anxiety.
