Are probiotics good after vomiting?

Kal se thoda tummy upset hai, and I vomited a couple of times. I'm feeling very weak now. Someone suggested taking probiotics to help my stomach recover, but I wanted to check if they are actually good to take after vomiting.

Honestly, after throwing up all night, my stomach feels like a war zone. I usually just crash and try some light dahi later when I can finally keep my eyes open. Probiotics definitely help soothe the gut once the main storm has passed.

Yes, they can be very helpful to restore your gut balance. But don't rush into it immediately after vomiting. Let your stomach rest for a few hours first, drink plain water or ORS, and then try some light home-made curd.

My family doctor told me that vomiting washes out the good bacteria from your digestive tract. He recommended starting probiotics or simple buttermilk only after the vomiting has completely stopped for at least 4 to 6 hours. If the vomiting is severe or accompanied by a high fever, please consult a clinic immediately.

Haan na, stomach gets so weak after vomiting. Taking some light dahi-rice with a pinch of salt is very soothing. It naturally contains good bacteria and is very gentle on the tummy.

They are great for recovering your gut flora. After a bad stomach bug, I usually avoid heavy protein shakes and stick to simple probiotic drinks or curd to get my digestion back on track. Just keep it simple and light.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my sister was sick. It seems probiotics are good to rebuild gut health, but you have to wait till the nausea is totally gone. Has anyone tried those over-the-counter probiotic sachets after food poisoning?

For mild nausea, home-made dahi or barley water works beautifully to soothe the stomach. But if you are vomiting continuously and cannot keep even water down, do not rely on home remedies. Please see a doctor right away to avoid dehydration.

Vomiting disrupts the body's natural balance. Along with deep, gentle breathing to calm the nervous system, consuming mild probiotics like homemade yogurt can gently revive your digestive fire. Always listen to your body's signals.

Beta, after vomiting, the stomach gets very tired. Give it some rest first. After that, drinking fresh, thin chaas with a little roasted cumin is very good and cools the body.
