Are pistachios bad for kidney stones?

I had a kidney stone last year, and my doctor advised me to be careful with certain foods. I've been avoiding nuts, but I really miss pistachios. Are pistachios considered bad for kidney stones, or can I have them in moderation?

Oh no, don't tell me this! I love munching on salted pistas while watching matches. But seriously, they do have oxalates, so we should probably not overdo it if we have stone issues.

When you have thyroid or hormonal issues, everything affects your kidneys and metabolism differently. If you are prone to stones, get a regular kidney function test and check with your doctor before eating them.

Beta, if you have stone problems, drink plenty of water with a bit of lemon daily. Pistachios have high oxalates, so it is better to avoid them until your stones are completely cleared.

I just passed a 6mm calcium oxalate stone last month, the pain was hell. My urologist strictly told me to avoid nuts like pistachios and almonds because they are very high in oxalates.

Look, if the doctor has told you to limit oxalates, just replace pistachios with seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds. They are much cheaper and safer for your kidneys anyway.

Haan na, kidney stones are so painful! It is better to be safe and avoid pistas for some time. Drink coconut water, it helps a lot.

My family suggests drinking barley water for stones, which is quite helpful. But please consult your doctor about nuts, as pistachios are known to have moderate to high oxalate levels.

If you have a history of oxalate stones, pistachios are risky. If you still want to eat them occasionally, drink lots of water and eat them with calcium-rich food to block oxalate absorption.

I am up at 3 AM reading about kidney stones because I am terrified of the pain. Honestly, I'm just going to drink 4 liters of water and throw my bag of pistas away to sleep peacefully.
