Are pistachio nuts ok for diabetics?

I have Type 2 diabetes and my doctor told me to include healthy snacks. I enjoy munching on pistachio nuts, but I'm not sure if they impact blood sugar. Are pistachio nuts generally okay for diabetics?

They are actually very good because they have a low glycemic index. Many sugar patients in my family eat a small handful daily. Just keep them plain and unsalted for best results.

Haan, bilkul khane chahiye! They are great for small hunger pangs, na. Just make sure you don't buy the fried or extra salted ones, simple raw or dry roasted ones are best.

I have been diabetic for 6 years and I eat pistachios. They don't spike my blood sugar at all, but I always check my levels with a glucometer after trying any new food. Do test yourself to be safe.

Pistachios contain healthy fats and fiber which can improve insulin sensitivity. However, since diabetes management is highly individualized, please check with your diabetologist before making them a daily habit.

Dry fruits are expensive, but keeping a small box of unsalted pista is a good investment for diabetes. When you feel like eating biscuits with tea, have 10 pistas instead. It is much safer and healthier.
