Are pinto and kidney beans the same?

I was looking for beans to cook a new recipe, and I saw both pinto beans and kidney beans at the store. They looked quite similar to me. Are pinto and kidney beans essentially the same thing, or are there distinct differences?

Nahi beti, dono alag hote hain. Pinto beans thode chitkabre aur chote hote hain, aur kidney beans ko hum rajma kehte hain jo bade aur laal hote hain. Khane mein dono ka swad thoda alag hota hai par dono hi acche hain.

They are different types of beans. Kidney beans are our traditional dark red 'rajma', while pinto beans are lighter, speckled, and cook a bit faster. If a recipe calls for pinto beans and you can't find them, you can easily use light-colored rajma as a budget-friendly substitute.

No, they are distinct varieties of the common bean family. Kidney beans are higher in certain fibers and have a tougher skin, whereas pinto beans are softer when cooked. Both are nutritionally rich, but you should consult a clinical nutritionist if you are incorporating them into a specific medical diet.

They aren't the same, though they belong to the same family. Kidney beans are what we call rajma, and pinto beans are more speckled and lighter. I try to include both in my diet to help with my insulin resistance, but I am still experimenting to see what works best for my PCOS.

They are actually different! Pinto beans are speckled and have a slightly creamier texture, while kidney beans (rajma) are larger and firmer. Both are amazing plant-based protein sources for your fitness goals. I use both in my meal prep to keep my nutrition balanced.

Dono alag hain bhai. Kidney beans matlab apna seedha-saadha lal rajma, aur pinto beans thode chote aur brown speckled hote hain. Swad alag hai, par agar rajma banana hai toh kidney beans hi lena, pinto beans se woh taste nahi aayega.

Nah, they aren't the same. I learned this the hard way when I tried to make Mexican food in my hostel room and bought kidney beans instead of pinto. Kidney beans are basically rajma, and pinto is much softer and cooks differently.

No, they are different beans altogether. My mother always taught us to use kidney beans for thick gravies, while pinto beans are mostly used in Mexican cooking. Both are healthy, but if you have digestive issues like bloating, it is best to ask your doctor how to prepare them safely.
