Are peas bad for diabetics?

My doctor advised me to be careful with starches because of my diabetes. My wife often uses green peas in sabzi and other dishes. I wanted to know if peas are considered bad for people with diabetes.

Honestly, I am so sleep-deprived from late-night work that I can barely tell my peas from my beans, but my diabetic uncle eats them all the time. They have carbs but also lots of fiber, so they aren't bad at all. Just don't eat a mountain of them at 2 AM like I do with snacks.

I always get so nervous when eating peas because they taste slightly sweet, and I keep worrying that they will spike my sugar levels. Does anyone else get this same anxiety when adding them to upma or poha? I'd really love some reassurance.

I used to panic and pick out every single pea from my pulao thinking they were terrible for my diabetes. But once I actually started testing my blood sugar, I realized they barely make a difference when eaten as part of a meal. Relax, they are totally fine.

Yaar, don't stress too much about green peas! They are super healthy and have a lot of protein, so they don't spike your sugar like white rice or maida do. Just mix them with other veggies and you are good to go, chill!

Arre, matar paneer is life! Peas do have some natural sugars, but they also have great fiber, so they aren't bad for diabetics at all. Just don't go eating a bowl of sweet peas solo—mix them with paneer or gobhi and enjoy your food!

Humare yahan toh thand me tazi matar khoob khayi jati hai. Sugar ke mariyon ko thoda hisab se khana chahiye, par bilkul band karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Ghar ka bana sadha khana khao aur thoda dhyan rakho, sab theek rahega.

Green peas are a natural, wholesome food filled with vital nutrients. In my experience, when we keep our mind calm with daily pranayama and eat fresh, home-cooked food in moderate amounts, things like peas are very easy for the body to process. Listen to your body's response.

My mom was also worried about this, but her doctor told her that peas are actually perfectly fine in moderation. They are technically a legume, so the protein and fiber help balance the carbs. We just add them to our regular subzis without any issues.
