Are palpitations a sign of heart attack?

Yesterday, my heart started beating very fast and irregularly for a few minutes; I felt really scared. My father had a heart attack a few years ago. Can palpitations be a sign of a heart attack?

I used to get bad palpitations and was terrified it was a heart attack, but for me, it was just severe anxiety and too much coffee. However, if your palpitations are accompanied by chest pain, shortness of breath, or dizziness, please do not ignore it. Go to a hospital emergency room immediately.

While an ECG at a local clinic is not very expensive and can quickly tell you if there is a heart issue, ignoring heart symptoms can lead to massive ICU bills later. If the palpitations come with chest tightness or heavy sweating, please go to a government hospital emergency ward immediately so you can get tested for free or low cost.

Sometimes minor palpitations are just caused by severe gas or dehydration, which we can calm with warm water. But my sincere advice is: if you feel sudden heavy sweating, left arm pain, or difficulty breathing alongside the racing heart, do not wait for home remedies. Please go to the nearest doctor immediately.

I was researching this because my dad felt a sudden flutter yesterday. Apparently, palpitations are often harmless and caused by stress, but they can indeed be a sign of a cardiovascular issue. If there is any chest pressure or fainting, you must go to a doctor right away to be completely safe.

At my age, I have learned that while many flutters are just due to fatigue or acidity, any new heart symptom must be taken seriously. If you have any chest discomfort or trouble breathing, do not hesitate for a second. Go see a cardiologist immediately for a proper checkup.

Look, don't ignore this. While simple gas or tension can cause palpitations, you cannot take a risk with your heart. If you also have chest pain, heavy sweating, or feel like fainting, stop searching online and go straight to the nearest hospital emergency room. Do it now.

I know how absolutely terrifying it is when your heart suddenly starts racing and you feel like the worst is happening. Most of the time it is just anxiety, but to be completely safe, you must see a doctor. If you are also having chest pain or breathing issues, please go to a hospital right away.
