Are oranges good for your liver?

My doctor recently suggested I focus on my liver health more. I've heard oranges are full of antioxidants and can be good for detox. Does this mean they are beneficial for the liver specifically?

I am actually quite new to learning about liver health. I read online that the vitamin C in oranges is helpful for reducing liver fat, but is that really true? If anyone has fatty liver, does eating oranges daily actually help improve the scan reports?

While oranges have good antioxidants that are beneficial for liver health, you have to be careful if you also have diabetes. Fructose from too many fruits can put pressure on both your liver and blood sugar. Stick to one small orange and don't overdo it.

When I was diagnosed with mild fatty liver, I started eating more citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. The antioxidants really help detoxify, but you also have to cut down on fried foods and sugar completely. Just eating oranges won't work unless you change your whole diet.

I can't give any medical opinion, but my doctor told me that eating whole fruits like oranges is good for overall health, including the liver, because of the vitamin C. I have one orange every other day and my liver function tests have been quite normal lately.

Yes, the antioxidants and vitamin C in oranges are generally considered very good for reducing liver inflammation.

Oranges have great antioxidants that support liver detox, which is a big plus. But remember, a healthy liver also needs daily physical activity. If your doctor clears you, try to pair your healthy fruit diet with a brisk 30-minute walk every day.
