Are mashed potatoes good after vomiting?

My son had a terrible bout of vomiting last night, and now he's slowly starting to feel a bit hungry. I was thinking of giving him something bland like mashed potatoes. Are mashed potatoes a good food choice to have after vomiting?

Mashed potatoes can be easy on the stomach, but make sure not to add too much salt or butter if you are trying to recover. If vomiting is accompanied by dizziness or high blood pressure, please get a checkup immediately rather than trying food remedies.

Honestly, plain mashed potatoes are like a gentle hug for a dramatic stomach! They are super soft and won't fight back. Just keep them totally bland, unless you want round two with the bathroom basin.

Yes, they are very easy to digest. Just make sure they are completely plain and at room temperature before eating.

When my son was recovering from food poisoning, the hospital dietitian recommended starting with very plain, fat-free mashed potatoes. However, if you are unable to keep any liquids down, please consult your doctor clearly instead of forcing solid food.

Plain mashed potatoes are excellent because they are very bland and easy for the stomach to digest. Just boil them thoroughly and mash them with a tiny pinch of salt and absolutely no milk, butter, or spices to avoid irritating your lining.
