Are low carb tortillas good for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes, and we often have rotis or chapati with our meals. I saw some 'low-carb tortillas' at the store and wondered if they would be a healthier alternative for him. Are these low carb options suitable for diabetics?

My teenage son has Type 1 diabetes and we tried those imported low carb tortillas once to make wraps. They didn't spike his sugar immediately, but the high fiber content did cause some bloating. It is practical to check your sugar level two hours after eating to see how your own body reacts.

Haan, log bolte hain ki carb kam hota hai par market waale products mein preservatives bhi toh hote hain na. Mere hisab se ghar ki bani bajra ya jowar ki roti zyada safe aur healthy hai sugar patients ke liye. Ek baar apne doc se bhi pooch lena.

Hey! Low carb tortillas can be a decent option occasionally because they have more fiber, which slows down sugar absorption. But make sure to read the ingredient list carefully, as some brands use a lot of gluten and modified wheat starch. Keep an eye on your readings.

I personally replaced my regular wheat chapatis with low carb multi-grain wraps for dinner. I noticed my fasting sugar levels stayed stable in the morning. However, everyone's insulin response is different, so I can only speak for my own experience.

Please be very careful with packaged 'low carb' labeled items. I fell for these keto and low carb products last year, and my HbA1c actually went up because of hidden starches. Please consult your diabetologist before making these major changes in your daily meals.
