Are liver diseases considered gastrointestinal disorders?

I'm trying to understand the different types of health conditions. My father has a liver condition, and I was wondering if liver diseases fall under the category of gastrointestinal disorders. Or is it a separate system altogether?

Yes, they are indeed classified under the gastrointestinal umbrella. In most major hospitals, you will find that liver issues are handled by the gastroenterology or hepatology department. It is always best to see these specialists if you have any liver concerns.

Actually yes, because the liver plays a huge role in digesting all that delicious butter chicken and biryani we love! When your digestive system is off, your liver is often involved. Just make sure to eat balanced meals to keep it happy.

They are connected because your liver helps digest food. If you have any liver issues like fatty liver, don't ignore it. Start by reducing fried food and sugar, and get a simple liver function test done at a local lab to show a doctor.

Yes, they fall under the same system. Having PCOS, I have to be careful about my liver health because insulin resistance can affect it too. It is a connected system, so consulting a doctor for any persistent digestive or liver symptoms is very important.

Yes, the liver is a key part of the digestive tract. Keeping it healthy requires a diet rich in green leafy vegetables, fiber, and avoiding processed foods. For any specific diagnosis, please visit a qualified gastroenterologist.

Yes, they are connected. Basically, your liver is the hard-working manager of your gut's digestion department. If you are feeling bloated and sleep-deprived like me, it's probably your digestive tract asking for a break!

We consult the GI department at Lisie Hospital, and yes, they treat liver diseases under the same division. If you are having symptoms, ask your doctor clearly about whether you need to see a hepatologist specifically. Don't self-diagnose.
