Are kidney stones and gallbladder stones the same?

My mother has both kidney stones and gallbladder stones, and it makes me wonder. Are kidney stones and gallbladder stones the same thing, or are they different conditions affecting different organs?

Nah, they are completely different, like my sleep schedule and a normal lifestyle. Kidney stones are made of calcium/minerals and pass out in urine, while gallbladder stones are made of cholesterol and can't be flushed out. Trust me, you don't want either.

Actually they are totally different, yaar. Gallbladder stones are made of cholesterol and happen near the liver, but kidney stones are made of calcium salts in the urinary tract. You can't just flush gallbladder stones with water like you do for kidney stones.

No, they are different. My husband had kidney stones which passed with water and medicine, but my sister had to get surgery for her gallbladder stones. As a parent, I suggest getting a proper scan done so you can plan the right treatment for your family member.

No, they are different! The body just decided to open two different stone quarries inside you, haha. Kidney stones come out in your pee, but gallbladder stones are stubborn and usually need a doctor to take them out. Don't worry, just get a scan!

No, they are completely different. I had gallbladder stones that caused severe complications and required surgical removal of the gallbladder, while kidney stones are treated differently. Please don't self-diagnose and consult a specialist to understand your condition.

Nahi, absolutely different things. One is in your urinary system and the other is in your digestive system. Don't mix up the treatments. If you are having pain on either side, go to a doctor and get an ultrasound done to know exactly what it is.

I completely understand how confusing and stressful all these medical terms can be when you are looking up symptoms. But rest assured, they are completely different organs and different types of stones. Knowing this really helped lower my anxiety, hope it helps you too.

They are totally different. Kidney stones form in the urinary tract, usually due to dehydration, while gallbladder stones form in the biliary system from excess cholesterol or bile. Staying active, lifting weights, and keeping a balanced diet helps prevent both.

They are not the same. According to medical biology, kidney stones are urinary tract mineral deposits, while gallstones are digestive fluid deposits in the gallbladder. For kidney stones, you need hydration; for gallstones, diet management is key. Track your symptoms and consult a doctor.

I used to worry so much that they were the same and both would need surgery! But they are totally different. Kidney stones can often be flushed out with water, but gallbladder stones usually need medical intervention. I hope you are doing okay, please check with a doc.
