Are ice baths good for arthritis?

I've heard some people say ice baths can help with inflammation for arthritis, but it sounds so extreme. Is there any truth to this? My knees are really bothering me these days.

Haan, cold therapy toh inflammation ke liye badiya hai, but ice bath directly lena thoda mushkil hota hai na? Simple ice pack se seekhna seekho pehle, direct pure badan ko baraf mein dalna is not easy.

Bro, ice baths are intense but they definitely help with active joint swelling. I use them after heavy gym sessions when my knees flare up. If you can handle the freeze for 5 minutes, it really numbs the pain.

Just reading 'ice bath' made my back freeze! At my age, I prefer a nice, hot cup of tea and a warm water bag. Getting into a tub of ice sounds more like a punishment than a treatment for arthritis.

Setting up an ice bath at home is too much work and wastes so much ice. Just buy a simple reusable gel ice pack from the pharmacy for 150 rupees. Keep it in the freezer and apply it to your knees whenever you have pain.

Cold therapy is great for reducing acute inflammation and muscle soreness. However, for chronic arthritis, most people actually prefer heat because cold can make the joints feel stiffer. Try both and see which one your body responds to best.

I have been seeing so many fitness influencers doing ice baths on Instagram lately. I was wondering if it actually helps with joint pain or if it's just a trend. Good to see different perspectives here!

Please be careful if you are trying ice baths for the first time. Sudden cold shock can spike your blood pressure, which isn't safe if you have other health issues. Start slow with just cold water compresses on the specific painful joint first.
