Are green olives good for diabetics?

My sister has been advised to eat a diabetic-friendly diet. She saw green olives in a store and wondered if they could be a good snack. Are green olives good for diabetics, or should she avoid them?

Beta, green olives are actually very healthy because they have good fats and very little sugar. In our traditional way, we always emphasize eating natural, bitter, or sour things like amla, but olives are also a fine modern addition. Just make sure they are not too salty, as high salt is not good for blood pressure.

Green olives are quite good for diabetes as they don't raise blood sugar at all. For natural care, you can also drink warm water with a bit of methi seeds in the morning. However, if you are experiencing severe symptoms like extreme thirst or fatigue, please see a doctor immediately.

I have been managing my diabetes for over twenty years now. Green olives are a very safe snack because they are low in carbs and contain healthy monounsaturated fats. Don't worry too much, you can easily add a few to your salad or meals without any fear of sugar spikes.

While green olives are healthy, please remember that packaged olives often contain very high sodium. High sodium can complicate things if you have high blood pressure, which is common in diabetics like me. It is always safest to show your diet plan to your doctor before making changes.

My doctor actually recommended green olives to me because they contain oleic acid, which helps improve insulin sensitivity. They are also packed with fiber and have a very low glycemic load. Just watch out for the sodium content in canned ones, as my doctor advised rinsing them first.

Green olives are healthy for diabetes, but they can be quite expensive in local Indian supermarkets. If you are trying to budget, you can get similar healthy fats from cheap local options like a few almonds or walnuts. Managing diabetes requires long-term planning for medicines and tests, so save where you can.

Hey, don't stress too much about adding green olives to your diet! They are actually amazing for diabetics because they have almost zero sugar and lots of healthy fats. Just toss a few into your salad and enjoy, it's a super easy and safe option.

Green olives are fine to eat, but please make sure you are also getting regular HbA1c checkups. I neglected my rising blood sugar symptoms for months, thinking eating 'healthy' things like olives would fix it, and ended up with nerve damage. Don't make my mistake, go get your blood tested.
