Are grapes ok to eat after vomiting?

I had a stomach bug yesterday and was vomiting a lot. Today, I'm feeling a bit better but still weak. I'm craving something refreshing like grapes. Is it safe to eat grapes after vomiting, or should I avoid them for a while?

Bro, definitely don't eat grapes right now. I made this mistake in my hostel after a bad stomach bug and ended up vomiting all over again because of the sourness. Just stick to basic water or limbu paani for today and let your stomach chill.

Oh dear, hope you feel better soon! 🌸 Grapes are super acidic and sugary, which might upset your tummy again. Better to stick to simple electral water or light khichdi today, and save the yummy grapes for when your stomach is 100% fine!

I totally get it, you must be feeling so weak and wanting something fresh to get rid of that bad taste. But grapes have a lot of acid and fiber, which is tough on a sensitive stomach. Try sipping some lukewarm water first to see if it settles down.

Usually, in our family, we avoid all citrus and sour fruits like grapes after an episode of vomiting because they can cause acidity. My family doctor also says to stick to simple, easily digestible foods like curd rice or kanji. Please rest well and don't rush into eating heavy fruits.

Please don't go by random online advice on what to eat after vomiting. If your stomach is rejecting food, eating fruits like grapes can worsen the acidity or reflux. If the vomiting continues more than 3-4 times, stop searching online and go visit a proper doctor to get an anti-vomiting tablet.

Whenever my kids vomit, I strictly keep grapes and other raw fruits away from them for at least 24 hours. The stomach needs very light, bland things to recover. I usually give them a spoonful of fresh coconut water every 15 minutes instead, it works wonders to bring back energy.

I actually asked my doctor about this during a bad bout of gastroenteritis. He explained that fruits like grapes contain fructose and acids that draw water into the intestines, which can trigger more vomiting or even diarrhea when your gut lining is already inflamed. He advised sticking to the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) instead.
