Are grapes bad for diabetics?

My doctor recently diagnosed me with diabetes, and I'm trying to figure out what all I can and cannot eat. Someone at the office told me that grapes are very high in sugar and should be completely avoided. Is this true, ya thoda bohot kha sakte hain?

Honestly, grapes are like nature's candy, they are so sweet and delicious! But if you have diabetes, eating them by the handful is a bit risky. Maybe just have 4 or 5 grapes along with some roasted unsalted peanuts to satisfy your sweet tooth without causing a massive sugar spike.

Please don't guess when it comes to your diet and diabetes. Years ago, I ignored my symptoms and kept eating sweet fruits like grapes thinking they were natural, until my sugar levels crossed 300. Go get a proper HbA1c test and let your doctor advise you on exactly what to eat.

I panicked so much when my father was first diagnosed with diabetes and wanted to stop him from eating all fruits, including grapes. But our doctor reassured us that a small portion of grapes is completely fine as long as it's balanced with his daily carb count. Don't worry too much, just measure the portion!

Hello! I have seen this topic discussed a lot in our diabetes support groups. Grapes are high in natural sugar, so they can cause a spike if eaten on an empty stomach. The best practical tip is to eat them right after a meal that was high in fiber and protein to minimize the impact.

My dad has diabetes and he still eats grapes sometimes, but my mom literally counts them out for him, lol. He is allowed like 8 to 10 grapes at a time, otherwise his sugar levels shoot up. So yeah, they aren't bad, but u can't eat them like crazy.

At my age, even looking at a grape seems to raise my blood sugar! They aren't poisoned, but they are packed with quick sugar, so treat them like high-end luxury items. Eat three or four, enjoy the taste, and then close the fridge before temptation takes over.

I always believe in eating seasonal fruits, and grapes have good water content and vitamins. But for diabetic patients, too many grapes can increase sugar quickly, so please limit it to just a few pieces. If you ever feel very thirsty or dizzy, don't ignore it and see a doctor immediately.

Grapes contain natural sugars and have a moderate glycemic index, so they aren't strictly 'bad,' but they do require strict portion control. Since individual glucose responses vary, consulting your doctor or a registered clinical nutritionist is the best way to determine if they fit into your meal plan.

I totally get it, managing diabetes is so hard when you just want to enjoy simple sweet fruits like everyone else. Grapes aren't completely off-limits, but because they are small, it's very easy to lose track of how many you've eaten. Try eating them with a handful of walnuts to help slow down the sugar absorption.

I agree, grapes aren't bad but portion size is everything. Just keep it to a small handful, around 10-12 grapes max per day.
