Are fruit smoothies bad for diabetics?

Looking for quick and easy breakfast options, fruit smoothies seem convenient. However, since I have diabetes, I'm concerned about the sugar content. Are fruit smoothies generally bad for diabetics, even if made with fresh fruit?

I am quite new to managing my mother's diet after her diabetes diagnosis. Are green smoothies with spinach and apple also bad, or is it only the pure fruit ones that we should avoid? I would be very grateful for some guidance.

Eating whole fresh fruits with a pinch of cinnamon is a great home habit for sugar. Smoothies break down the healthy fibers, which can cause sudden sugar spikes. However, if your sugar is consistently running high, please consult your doctor immediately.

Haan, smoothies toh diabetics ke liye sahi nahi hain na. Liquid form me aate hi fruit ka sara fiber khatam ho jata hai aur sugar level bohot jaldi upar jata hai. Isse accha hai ki aap fruit ko normal chaba kar hi khao.

My teenage daughter has Type 1 diabetes and she loves smoothies. We learned the hard way that blending fruits spikes her levels instantly. Now, I make them using mostly raw spinach, cucumber, and just a tiny portion of apple, which is much safer.

I totally get it, it feels so unfair that even healthy things like fruits can be risky when you have diabetes. The issue is just that blending makes the sugar absorb too fast. Try eating the whole fruit instead, it is much safer and still satisfying.

My doctor told me to stay away from smoothies, and honestly, my jaw is tired of chewing raw leaves and whole apples now! But yes, drinking your fruits is basically inviting a sugar spike party. Better to stick to old-school chewing.
