Are frozen peas ok for diabetics?

Frozen peas are something I often use in my cooking as they are very convenient. Since I have diabetes, I always try to ensure everything I eat is suitable. Are frozen peas generally okay for diabetics to consume regularly?

My mother-in-law always prefers fresh vegetables, but frozen peas are quite safe for diabetes since freezing doesn't change their low glycemic index. Our family doctor told us we can add them to upma or poha, but still, we keep the quantity moderate.

Listen, if frozen peas weren't allowed, I would probably starve. I barely get four hours of sleep and don't have the energy to peel fresh matar. They have never spiked my sugar levels, so I just throw them in everything and hope for the best.

Since I deal with insulin resistance due to PCOS, I have to be very careful with starchy vegetables. Peas do have carbs, so I usually eat them in small quantities alongside a heavy protein source like paneer. It's always best to see how they affect your own body.

I used to ignore my fluctuating sugar readings and eat whatever vegetable I wanted. That landed me in trouble with my kidneys. Please don't just rely on internet tips; check your HbA1c levels regularly and get your doctor to customize your vegetable portions.

Frozen peas are alright when fresh ones are not in season, but dhyan rakhein to boil them well before eating. Additionally, taking a little cinnamon powder with water in the morning is very good for managing blood sugar levels naturally.

Frozen peas are a massive time-saver during busy weekdays. From a nutrition standpoint, they have a decent amount of fiber and protein which helps manage glucose absorption. Just check the packet to ensure no extra sodium or sugar has been added.
