Are eggs bad for kidney disease?

My mother has early-stage kidney disease, and we're monitoring her diet closely. She loves eggs, but I heard too much protein can be bad for kidneys. Are eggs bad for kidney disease, or can she still eat them?

Beta, with kidney issues, you have to be very careful because the body cannot filter out excess protein and phosphorus. Stick to light, fresh home-cooked meals, and don't eat too many eggs without asking your vaidya or doctor.

In kidney disease, phosphorus is a big concern and egg yolks have a lot of it. However, egg whites are an excellent source of high-quality protein with very little phosphorus. Definitely check with your nephrologist first.

Dealing with kidney health can be very overwhelming. Please take things one day at a time, eat simple food, and trust what your doctor advises you for your meals.

If you have kidney disease, managing protein intake is crucial, so don't self-prescribe eggs. Also, keep up with gentle walking if your doctor permits, as staying active helps manage overall blood pressure.

I go to Apollo Hospital for my family's checkups, and the doctors there always say kidney diets are highly customized based on your creatinine and GFR levels. Please ask your doctor clearly before adding eggs.

Many diabetics develop kidney issues later, so we have to be doubly careful. Egg whites are a safe protein, but please check your blood reports regularly and consult a clinical dietitian.

Oh god, kidney issues are so scary and I always over-analyse everything I eat. If I were you, I wouldn't touch a single egg until the doctor gives a green light. Better to be extremely safe!

I was reading an article about renal diets yesterday and it mentioned that egg whites are actually preferred over other proteins for kidney patients. It's fascinating how different parts of the same egg work!

My father's nephrologist explained this to us last month. He said egg whites are safe because they are a clean protein, but the yolk must be avoided due to high phosphorus which weak kidneys can't filter well.

My brother has stage 3 CKD. We completely stopped giving him egg yolks because of the phosphorus load. We only give him two egg whites a day, cooked without salt, and his lab reports have stayed stable.
