Are eggs bad for a diabetic?

My doctor told me to cut down on certain foods, but I love eggs. Some people say they are bad for diabetics because of cholesterol. Are eggs bad for a diabetic, or can I still have them sometimes?

If eggs were bad for diabetes, my uncle would have turned into a chicken by now! He has had diabetes for 15 years and eats two boiled eggs daily without any issues. Just don't deep-fry them!

I agree with others, eggs are safe. Just try to eat boiled eggs instead of frying them in lots of butter.

I totally understand the anxiety of eating something new when you are diabetic, I used to check my sugar ten times a day out of fear. But honestly, eggs are very safe and didn't spike my levels at all.

I don't know the medical science behind it, but my personal experience has been good. I eat three egg whites every morning, and my fasting sugar levels have remained stable.

My doctor at Aster Medcity told me that eggs are excellent for protein, but because I am diabetic, I should limit yolks to 2-3 times a week to watch my cholesterol. You should ask your doctor about your specific limits.
