Are dried apricots good for diabetics?

I love dried apricots, but I have to be careful with my blood sugar. My sister told me they are healthy, but I'm not sure about dried fruits for diabetics. Are dried apricots a good snack for someone with diabetes?

I was actually reading up on this because my dad has diabetes. It seems they have a low glycemic index, but drying concentrates the sugar content. So having one or two is fine, but definitely don't eat a whole handful.

I have been managing my sugar for twenty years now. Dried fruits like apricots are okay in absolute moderation, but fresh whole fruits are always better. Just keep an eye on your readings after eating them.

My grandmother used to say dried fruits are highly nutritious, but my doctor advised strict portion control for diabetes. It's always best to check your post-meal blood sugar levels to see how your body reacts to them.

Dealing with insulin resistance in PCOS, I am always very careful with dried fruits. Apricots do have fiber, but they can spike sugar if you overeat. Maybe try having just one alongside some almonds to slow down the sugar absorption.

They are great, until you realize you just ate ten of them while watching TV! Portion control is key, otherwise your sugar monitor will start singing a very angry song. Stick to one or two and you are good.
