Are diabetic socks compression socks?

My doctor told me to wear diabetic socks to help with my feet. I saw some compression socks in the market, and they look similar. Are diabetic socks basically the same as compression socks, or are they different?

No beta, they are actually quite different. Diabetic socks are designed to be loose so they don't restrict blood flow or pinch your skin, whereas compression socks are meant to tightly squeeze your legs. I have used both over the years.

Actually, diabetic socks are very soft and seamless to avoid any friction or wounds, keeping the feet breathing naturally. Compression socks are for reducing swelling by applying gentle pressure. For my circulation, gentle ankle rotations have also helped immensely.

No, they are different. Diabetic socks protect sensitive feet and don't restrict blood, while compression socks squeeze to improve blood flow. Since I have high BP and poor circulation, I always make sure to discuss my footwear choices during my regular checkups.

Trust me, at this age, keeping track of different socks is a task in itself! Diabetic socks are loose so your toes can breathe, while compression socks are so tight they feel like a workout just to pull them on. Don't mix them up.

Nahi babuji, dono alag hain. Sugar wale mauze bilkul dhile aur mulayam hote hain taaki pair mein dabav na pade. Aur dabav wale mauze thode kase hue hote hain. Kisi dukan wale se pooch kar hi khareedna.

My doctor at Jupiter Hospital explained this to me. Diabetic socks are meant to protect against nerve pain and cuts, while compression socks are for vein issues. It's always best to ask your consulting specialist which one is right for your condition.

I recently had to buy these for my dad. Diabetic socks are extremely loose and padded at the bottom to avoid blisters, whereas compression socks are very tight to help with swelling. They are definitely not the same thing.

They serve entirely different purposes. Diabetic socks are seamless and non-binding to prevent cuts, while compression socks are tight. Please consult your physician before buying either, as using the wrong type can affect your blood circulation badly.
