Are cucumbers bad for arthritis?

I have arthritis in my knees and sometimes try to eat foods that might help. My wife told me to avoid cucumbers, saying they increase 'cold' in the body, which might worsen my joint pain. Is there any truth to this, or can I eat them?

Don't believe every WhatsApp forward or random internet post saying cucumbers cause joint pain or 'cold' in the bones. There is no scientific proof of this. Go see a qualified rheumatologist or doctor to get proper advice for your arthritis.

My grandmother has arthritis and she eats cucumber raita all the time with no issues. I don't think it is bad at all, but every body is different, right? Maybe just ask your doctor once if you are worried.

At my age, many people tell me to avoid 'cold' foods like cucumber for joint pain, but I have eaten them my whole life without issues. Cucumbers are actually hydrating. Just don't eat them straight out of the fridge, and always follow your doctor's treatment.

Look, cucumbers are mostly water and very healthy, they don't cause arthritis. If your joints are swelling or hurting, it's because of uric acid or wear and tear, not because of a salad. Go to a hospital and get a proper blood test done.

My gym trainer actually recommended cucumbers to reduce inflammation because they are hydrating and have antioxidants. I haven't had any joint issues with them at all. But if your pain is severe, you should definitely consult a doctor.
