Are cranberries good for kidney disease?

My mother has been diagnosed with kidney disease, and we're looking into foods that might support her health. I've read somewhere that cranberries are beneficial for kidneys. Is this true for someone with existing kidney disease?

As someone managing diabetes, I know kidney health is very closely linked. Cranberries can help prevent urinary tract infections, but they also contain potassium and oxalates which might not suit all kidney patients. You must consult your nephrologist before changing your diet.

Kidney conditions are extremely sensitive and require precise dietary management. While cranberries are famous for bladder health, self-treating can be very risky. Please get your kidney function tests checked and consult your doctor immediately.

Managing my high blood pressure means I have to keep a strict eye on my kidney markers too. Cranberries might help with UTIs, but managing kidney issues requires proper lifestyle adjustments and regular doctor visits. Do get your levels tested regularly.

Even though cranberries are natural, patients with kidney disease often need to restrict certain minerals like potassium. It's not a one-size-fits-all solution. I highly recommend discussing your daily potassium and fluid limits with your doctor.

I agree that we need to be very careful here. Cranberry can sometimes interact with kidney medications, so please consult your doctor first.
