Are colon spasms a sign of cancer?

I've been experiencing painful stomach spasms quite frequently lately. My uncle recently passed away from colon cancer, and I'm really worried. Are colon spasms a sign of cancer?

Bhai, don't worry so much and think of big illnesses. Most of the time it is just gas, indigestion, or IBS. Drink warm water and see a local doctor if the pain continues.

I get so panicked searching symptoms on Google, it always shows the worst things like cancer! Usually, spasms are just due to stress or food sensitivities, but getting a doctor to check will give you peace of mind.

I had terrible colon spasms last month and feared the worst. It turned out to be just Irritable Bowel Syndrome triggered by spicy street food and work stress. A short course of muscle relaxants from my doctor cleared it up.

Haan, google search matches every stomach ache to cancer, na! Don't stress out. Spasms are very common and usually just lifestyle-related, but do get a routine checkup done if it doesn't stop.

No, colon spasms are usually linked to IBS or gas, not cancer. Don't panic, but do consult a gastroenterologist to get a proper diagnosis.

My gut is currently making weird noises at 3 AM while I search this. It's almost always just gas or too much coffee, but honestly, let's both go sleep and see a doctor tomorrow instead of diagnosing ourselves.

I am feeling some sharp cramping on the left side of my stomach too and got really scared. Has anyone else here had these spasms due to severe anxiety or stress?
