Are chia seeds good for thyroid patient?

I have hypothyroidism, and my dietician suggested increasing my fiber intake. I'm considering adding chia seeds to my diet. Are chia seeds good for thyroid patients?

I totally get it, managing thyroid food restrictions is so confusing. Chia seeds are generally very safe and full of fiber, which helps with the slow metabolism we get. Just try to keep a gap of a few hours between your morning thyroid medicine and eating them.

There is no need to buy expensive fancy brands, normal chia seeds are easily available now. I just mix a spoonful in a glass of water or buttermilk in the afternoon. It helps with the constipation issue that most thyroid patients face, very simple and budget-friendly.

I have been managing my hypothyroid for fifteen years now. Chia seeds are excellent for calcium and fiber, which we really need. Just a small tip: don't overdo it, one tablespoon a day is more than enough for our bodies.

Before you start eating them daily, please get your TSH levels checked and show the report to your doctor. Thyroid is very sensitive to sudden dietary changes. It is always better to be safe and take professional advice.
