Are cavities bad?

My friend just got a filling for a cavity, and it sounded pretty scary. I wanted to know, are cavities really that bad?

I totally get it, finding out you have a cavity can feel really discouraging and stressful. But honestly, they are extremely common and very easy to fix if you catch them early. Don't worry too much, just get it filled and you will be completely fine!

They aren't great because they indicate bacteria eating away your enamel, but they are highly manageable. I track my dental checkups on my calendar app just like my workouts. The key is catching them early before they require a root canal, so log a visit to your dentist soon!

Well, they are definitely a buzzkill for eating desserts! If you let them grow, eating your favorite ice cream or hot jalebis becomes a nightmare. So yes, they are bad for your food life, get them filled quickly so you can go back to enjoying your meals!

I used to feel so embarrassed and guilty about having cavities, like I was failing at basic adulting. But I realized almost everyone gets them at some point. They are bad only if you ignore them, so try not to beat yourself up and just go get it sorted.

Let's be direct: yes, they are bad because untreated decay leads to intense pain and expensive treatments. There's no point delaying it. Just find a highly rated dentist in your area, get the filling done, and move on with your life.
