Are carbs bad for diabetics?

My father is diabetic, and we're always confused about what he should eat. Some people say all carbs are bad for him. Are carbs really bad for diabetics, or is it more about the type and quantity?

I deal with insulin resistance because of PCOS and honestly carbs used to scare me so much. But completely stopping them made me feel weak and cranky. Now I just try to pair my carbs with a good amount of protein or paneer so that my glucose levels stay stable. Please check with a nutritionist once as everybody reacts differently.

Actually all carbs are not the same and my doctor explained this very clearly to me. Complex carbs like oats and brown rice digest slowly and dont spike sugar suddenly like white bread or maida do. He advised me to track my daily carb intake and focus on high-fibre options rather than cutting them out entirely.

Not all of them are bad, you just need to choose complex carbs in moderation. Don't worry too much!

Carbs are basically fuel for your body, even if you are diabetic. The key is to combine complex carbs with regular physical activity like a 30-minute brisk walk or light weight training after meals. That movement really helps your muscles absorb the glucose directly, keeping your levels in check.

Listen, don't stress yourself out by thinking you have to give up all your favorite foods. Carbs are our main energy source, we just have to be smart about the portion size and skip the junk food. Just focus on home-cooked meals with lots of green veggies and dal, and you will be absolutely fine.

Hello, my father was recently diagnosed with borderline diabetes and we are still trying to understand the diet rules. Is it true that we should stop giving him white rice altogether? I feel a bit lost with all the different advice online.
