Are bananas ok for type 2 diabetes?

I've been managing my type 2 diabetes for about five years now, mainly through diet. I enjoy having a banana sometimes, but I'm always a little worried about the sugar content. Are they generally considered okay for type 2 diabetics?

Dekho boss, seedhi baat hai, kela meetha hota hai aur sugar badhata hai. Agar Type 2 diabetes hai toh kela khana thoda kam hi rakho. Kabhi kabhar aadha kha liya toh theek hai, par roz roz khaoge toh sugar test bigad jayega. Apne doctor se pooch kar hi diet badlo.

My uncle has Type 2 and he used to eat bananas daily thinking they are healthy natural fruits. But his sugar levels shot up crazy high. Now he only eats them occasionally, like half a banana before his morning walk. Honestly, it's better to stay safe and ask your doc.

Let's be realistic, bananas have a high glycemic load for a diabetic patient. If you have Type 2, eating bananas daily is not a smart move. Focus on high-fiber options like berries or apples instead, and consult your clinical dietician for a proper carbohydrate budget.

Actually yaar, my dad has Type 2 and he was told to strictly avoid overripe bananas because they have too much sugar. Sometimes he gets crazy cravings, so he has just a small bite. It's better to check with your doctor before making it a habit, seriously.

For diabetes, traditional wisdom says we must avoid heavy, very sweet fruits like banana and mango. They can disturb the body's natural balance. If you must, eat a very small piece of raw or firm banana, but do not ignore the medicines and regular tests your doctor has prescribed.

I manage both high BP and diabetes, and lifestyle control is absolutely crucial. While bananas help with BP due to potassium, they are bad for my blood sugar. I had to consult my physician to find alternative low-sugar potassium sources. Keep getting your regular checkups done.

Agree with others here. Bananas have too much starch for Type 2 diabetes, so it's safer to avoid them and choose guava or papaya instead.

As a strict vegetarian, I track my food patterns closely. Bananas are rich in potassium, but their carbohydrate load is too high for Type 2 diabetes patients. If you consume them, always balance it with low-carb, high-protein vegetarian foods and discuss with your doctor.

Hey, don't stress too much about managing your diet, you are doing great! Yes, bananas have sugar, but having a tiny portion once in a while won't ruin everything. Just keep an eye on your readings and talk to your doc to find a sweet spot that works for you.

My mother was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and we are trying to plan her meals. Are yellow bananas completely bad, or can she have them if they are small? I am really confused about what fruits are safe, so any advice is helpful.
