Are bananas bad for type 2 diabetes?

My husband has Type 2 diabetes, and we're trying to figure out which fruits are safe for him. He loves bananas, but I've heard they can spike blood sugar. Are bananas considered bad for someone with Type 2 diabetes?

You do not have to worry too much about completely stopping bananas. Just try to eat a smaller size and make sure it is not too ripe. It is a very natural and comforting food, just take care of the portions.

Man, between managing my baby's midnight crying and my type 2 diabetes, I barely have energy to think. I just eat a small banana in the morning to stay awake. It doesn't seem to spike my sugar much as long as I don't eat the whole bunch, so sleep-deprived folks can survive!

Our bodies are natural temples and fruits are blessings. For Type 2 diabetes, moderation in all sweet foods is important. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and eat a small banana occasionally while thanking nature. Blessings for your good health.

Instead of buying costly diabetic-friendly fancy foods, just eat half a normal banana daily. Pair it with thoda dahi or a few almonds to slow down the sugar. It is a very cheap and easy way to keep your energy up without breaking the bank.

Hey listen, don't stress too much about the diabetes labels on every fruit. Yes, bananas have sugar, but they are way better than eating a packet of biscuits. Just have half a banana when you crave sweet, and you'll be totally fine!

From what I see daily with patients, bananas aren't completely banned in Type 2 diabetes. The trick is to avoid very ripe ones because their sugar content is much higher. Try to eat them with some fiber and keep checking your blood sugar regularly to know your limit.

My son was diagnosed with early stage sugar issues, and we were so confused about fruits. Our pediatrician suggested giving him half a banana along with a handful of walnuts in the afternoon. It works well and doesn't cause sudden spikes, just keep track of their daily meals.
