Are ast and alt liver enzymes?

My recent blood test report showed elevated AST and ALT levels. The doc said something about liver function, but I didn't quite understand. Are AST and ALT indeed liver enzymes?

Yes, AST and ALT are definitely liver enzymes. They show up in your routine blood tests to check how your liver is doing.

Yes, they are indeed liver enzymes. If you have done an LFT, it is always best to let a doctor analyze the actual numbers.

Haan bhai, bilkul liver enzymes hi hain. Agar report mein upar-neeche aaya hai toh seedha doctor ko dikhao, khud doctor mat bano.

Yes, they are. When my blood pressure was acting up, my doctor got these tested along with my lipid profile. Regular checkups and keeping your weight under control helps keep these levels normal.

Yeah, they are. Learned this in my bio class last semester, basically they leak into your blood if the liver is stressed. Just get a quick test done if you're worried.

Yes they are! I only know this because I looked at my own lab report at 3 AM while trying to sleep. Trust me, don't stay up all night googling them like I did.
