Am i having a panic attack or a heart attack?

Sometimes, when I get really stressed, my heart starts racing, I feel dizzy, and it's hard to breathe. It's really frightening and makes me worry about my heart. How can I differentiate between a panic attack and a heart attack in those moments?

I also get this scary feeling sometimes and I don't know what to do. If the chest pain spreads to your left arm or jaw, could it be a heart issue? Please go see a doctor immediately if the pain is very sharp or makes you feel faint.

My thyroid fluctuations used to give me severe palpitations that felt exactly like a heart issue. But you should never guess when it comes to the chest. Go get an ECG and blood tests done at a hospital immediately to rule out anything serious with your heart.

Bro, I’ve been to the ER twice thinking I was dying, but it was just a severe panic attack. Still, my doctor told me to never ignore chest tightness. If you're sweating, feeling dizzy, or have heavy chest pain, stop reading this and head to a hospital right now.

I know how terrifying this is and how much your chest can actually hurt during panic. Please take a slow, deep breath, but remember that safety comes first. If you have any crushing chest pressure, breathing difficulty, or sweating, please get medical help immediately.

My family always says to drink some warm water and lie down, thinking it is just gastric trouble or stress. However, chest pain is something we must trust doctors with. If you are feeling severe pressure in your chest, please go to a hospital emergency room without any delay.

My cardiologist explained that panic attacks usually cause a racing heart but a heart attack involves crushing, pressure-like pain that can radiate to your back, neck, or arm. Because the symptoms overlap so much, any sudden, severe chest discomfort requires immediate emergency medical evaluation.

My smartwatch once registered a huge spike in my heart rate during a panic episode. But smartwatches can't diagnose a heart condition. If you are experiencing genuine chest pain, sweating, or shortness of breath, please close the app and go see a doctor immediately.
